Studies of
the criminal career to date have focused on common criminals and street
crime; criminologists have overlooked the careers of white-collar offenders.
David Weisburd and Elin Waring offer here the first detailed examination
of the criminal careers of people convicted of white-collar crimes

CIVIL LAWS
Take a look at the Code
of Florida (Title VI: Civil Practice and Procedure)
the
law of civil or private rights
CIVIL
ACTION
- The generic term used to describe court proceedings
that are not criminal in nature. This includes
lawsuits by private parties as well as those involving
governments. Except in cases concerning civil
contempt (actually a quasi-criminal matter) there
is seldom a possibility of incarceration to the
losing party. In most jurisdictions actions are
divided only into two kinds, namely, criminal
and civil. A criminal action is prosecuted by
the state as a party, against a person charged
with a public offence, for the punishment thereof.
Every other action is a civil action.
BRIEF CIVIL LAW HISTORY:
Began as Roman law especially as set forth in
the Justinian code. This Law inspired by old Roman
Law, the primary feature of which was that laws
were written into a collection; codified, and
not determined, as is common law, by judges. The
principle of civil law is to provide all citizens
with an accessible and written collection of the
laws which apply to them and which judges must
follow.
Software
programs are not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. Software
programs provides forms and information about the law, and suggestions
on how to use the program. Software programs cannot and does not provide
specific advice for your exact situation, and it cannot decide whether
the program’s forms are appropriate for you. Because software programs
cannot decide which forms are best for your individual situation,
you must use your own judgment and, to the extent you believe appropriate,
the assistance of a lawyer. If your estate is expected to be larger
than the federal estate tax applicable exclusion amount ($1,000,000
for 2003, and $1,500,000 for 2004), it may be desirable to use more
complex estate planning techniques that are not provided by software
programs
